Did you know that the routers we use at home always come with proprietary software installed? This means that we may have surveillance tools, data collection, and performance limitation without even realizing it.

However, just as there are ways to free our computers, we can also liberate and reclaim the sovereignty of our routers. Sometimes, and if we're lucky, with just one click! Freeing routers is another example of what we can do by expanding our knowledge of free tools. Another example is the creation of the Experimental Network of Canòdrom.

  • What do you need for this session? Bring routers that are no longer in use to assess why they have been discontinued and propose alternative uses.

This is the third of the DWeb meetings for the winter quarter of 2024. They are a space to meet and connect with people, protocols, and projects in favor of a decentralized web: because the Internet is healthier when many people control it.

Organized by: Digicòria, collaborative project.
