El Canòdrom acoge algunas muestras de realidad virtual que forman parte del circuito del festival Art Nou. Art Nou es el festival de arte emergente de Barcelona y Hospitalet que ofrece la posibilidad a jóvenes creadoras nacionales e internacionales de establecer la primera relación profesional con el mercado del arte, las galerías, los espacios autogestionados, y las instituciones dedicadas al arte emergente. El festival apuesta un año más por estimular la producción joven, reivindicar las galerías como espacios de encuentro y debate, y poner en contacto a los agentes del arte y el público general.
Tornar-se. Una experiencia en realidad virtual sensitiva
En general vivimos de manera automática, disociándonos del presente, de lo que sentimos y del cuerpo. No somos conscientes de cómo la vista y el sonido nos afecta a tal punto de evocar una sensación, sentimiento o emoción que puede ser placentera o displacentera dependiendo del bagaje emocional que cada persona tenga. Esta exposición es una invitación a tomar consciencia de nuestro presente y a conocer cómo funciona el cerebro frente a diversos estímulos.

SIMULACROS. Una experiencia en realidad virtual sobre el cambio climático
[Simulacros] presenta la idea que los desastres provocados en el Antropoceno, junto con el vertiginoso crecimiento de la industria tecnológica y la inacción de los gobiernos mundiales para atajar la crisis medioambiental, ha degenerado en una muerte de la naturaleza, en pos de una virtualización creciente del mundo. La exposición anima al visitante a adentrarse en el espacio virtual para atender al porvenir que nos plantean los retos del siglo XXI, en un intento de materializar -a través de la digitalización-, un futuro ignorado, pero aún posible.

Canòdrom is one of the main venues on the festival Art Nou, holding an exhibition of Virtual Reality. Art Nou is the emerging art festival in Barcelona and Hospitalet that offers young national and international creators the opportunity to establish their first professional relationship with the art market, galleries, self-managed spaces, and institutions dedicated to emerging art. The festival commits one more year to stimulate young production, reclaim the galleries as spaces for meeting and debate, and put art agents and the public in contact.

In general we live in an automatic way, dissociating ourselves from the present, from what we feel and from the body. We are not aware of how sight and sound affect us to the point of evoking a sensation, feeling or emotion that can be pleasant or unpleasant depending on the emotional baggage that each person has. The exhibition encourages visitors to enter the virtual space to face some of the future challenges of the 21st century, in an attempt to materialize -through digitalization- an ignored, but still possible, future.
